Articles of Faith

1. We believe in one true God, the Father, the Word and the Holy Ghost, and these three are one.  2nd Peter 1:21, Acts 1:3, 21, Romans 3:2.
2. We believe that the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments are the Word of God and the only rule of faith and practice.  Romans 2:12, John 12:48.
3. We believe that by one man sin entered into this world and death by sin and so death passed upon all men for all have sinned. Eccl. 7:29, James 1:27, Romans 5:12, 14:19.
4. We believe Jesus Christ by the Grace of God tasted death for every man and through His mediatorial death the way was made possible for God to have mercy upon terms of the Gospel.  John 3:16, 4:10, Acts 15:11, 1st Timothy 1:14, 15.
5. We believe that being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1, 5, 9, 10, Galatians 2:16, 19.
6. We believe that such only are true believers that endure to the end.  That their persevering attachments to Christ in a grand work that distinguishes them from the world and that a special providence watches over them and they are kept by the power of God unto Salvation.  Matthew 10:22, John 10:28~29, 4:14, 17:23, 8:34.
7. We believe that there will be a Resurrection of the dead and a general and universal judgment and the happiness of the righteous and the punishment of the wicked eternal.  Matthew 28:20, 13:39, 40, Hebrews 1:10, 12.
8. We believe the visible Church of Christ is of faith, a full congregation of men and women who hath obtained fellowship with each other and given themselves to the Lord having agreed to keep up a Godly discipline according to the rules laid down in the Gospel.  Acts 8:1, 13, 5:11, 11:26, 14:23, 27, 15:4, 16:5, 1st Corinthians 4:17.
9. We believe that Jesus Christ is the great head of the church and the government thereof is with the body.  1st Peter 2:13, Romans 13:1, Matthew 22:23, Acts 13:37,  Deut. 16:18;  2nd Samuel 23:23,  Titus 3:1, 1st Timothy 2:4.
10. We believe that baptism and the Lord’s Supper are ordinances of the Gospel church and to kept up until His second coming.  Mark 1:3, 9:10, Matthew 3:6, 28:19, John 3:23, Acts 8:36, 39, Romans 6:4, 1st Peter 3:21, Galatians 3:27, Acts 23:16.
11. We believe that true believers are the only fit subjects for baptism and that immersion is the gospel mode. 1st Corinthians 11:26, Luke 22:19, Matthew 26:26.
12. We believe that none but regular baptized believers and members have a right to commune at the Lord’s Table.  1st Corinthians 11:26, 11:28, 5:8,11, Luke 22:19, Mark 14:22.
13. We believe the Lord’s Day ought to be kept and set apart for the worship of God.  And that no work or worldly business ought to be transacted, only work of piety, mercy, necessity exempt.  Acts 20:7, Revelation 1:10, Mark 2:27, John 3:19.
